Porsches give you a tour of the studio.

Fresh off their 20 date national tour with Tkay Maidza, Porsches return home to work on some new material at REC bringing along Kyran Wheatley from Triple J’s Good Nights to show him around the studio. You can check out the broadcast here, expect some cameos from Kilter and Physique who are also hard at work on new material.


Porsches new double a side Karate//High is out this month on Sweat It Out records, and they’ve just been announced at Beyond the Valley Festival, headliners at Electronic Music Conference Australia, and performing live at the NYD Pool Party at IVY with Bag Raiders. We’ll see you there.

The Canberra based trio dominated Australian airwaves over the last 12 months with a string of pop hits including their collaboration with Peking Duk “Take Me Over” which debuted at #6 in the Aria charts.

Safia spent July at REC working on their next record which includes current single Embracing Me before heading back to North America in support of the release. Safia will return home to Sydney for Field day on Jan 1 alongside an epic line up of REC Studios alumni RL Grime, JOY, Allday and Ngaiire.

I Know Leopard – Another Life EP

After what feels like a record breaking 5 singles in a row reaching ‘high rotation’ on the national air waves, Australia’s darlings of dream pop are back with a new record. The 4 track EP titled “Another Life” includes radio hits Close My Eyes and Perfect Picture as well as two new tracks Another Life and Spaceships.

Recorded and mixed at REC Studios with Craig Willson at the controls, this new record continues to bring their brand of lush guitar and piano tones into the spotlight of a market flooded with electronica. The full record is streaming free on soundcloud here.

Rae Sremmurd

Mississippi born brother duo Swae Lee Brown and Slim Jimmy are fast making a name for themselves as one of the most engaging live acts in global hip hop.

The group are best known for their platinum singles “No Flex Zone” and “No Type” which peaked at thirty-six and sixteen on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart respectively. The two dropped into REC in between dates on the Listen Out tour to flex their production chops. We can confirm there is going to be a bunch of extremely tasty tunes yet to come from this young project.

George Maple

Sydney local Jess Higgs aka George Maple has had a huge 2015 and currently has a bunch of tracks in the iTunes charts including her own single Vacant Space, as well as hits with the likes of What So Not, Gold Room and Hayden James. Keeping busy this year Jess also showcased at SXSW 2015 festival in Austin and featured at California’s Coachella mega-festival.

The singer spent time last month tracking toplines at REC with in house producer Andrew Grant for a new release that will be out on Future Classic later this year.

The Wolf is back. Fuzz boxes have been set to stun on a string of late night recording sessions at REC. Andrew Stockdale, the grammy award winning singer dropped by our studios before jumping on the national Groovin The Moo tour earlier this month. He has since revealed in an interview for Music Feeds TV that these sessions along with recordings from his own studio in Byron Bay will go to LA and become the beds for his new album.

On the back of a string of Arias and Number #1’s Wolfmother’s debut album broke Australia’s Grammy drought, and became the bedroom anthem of every kid who owned Guitar Hero. Take a trip down memory lane to the golden days of the mid-noughtieshere.

An Aussie icon is back and we eagerly await to see what these early recordings turn into over the course of the coming year.

Delta Goodrem

Star of stage, screen, and all round Aussie icon Delta Goodrem has been hard at work behind the ivories in Studio M, kicking off her shoes and hammering out a bunch of fresh material.

Last month the 10 time ARIA Award winner released Only Human, her first single since 2012’s Child of the universe was in the charts, this is a long awaited return to radio after spending the past few years as the nice one on Channel 9’s The Voice (AU).

We bet her fourth #1 album is just around the corner. In the mean time here is the new video. Only Human is out now on Sony Music Australia.

New from What So Not: “Gemini”

What is that scorching dance music pulsing out of your little sisters bedroom hi-fi? To catch you up to speed, over the past 12 months Sydney producer Chris Emerson has taken his project What So Not to the worlds biggest stages, becoming arguably Australia biggest dance music export.

Recently signing to Skrilex’s Owsla record label, and extensively touring North America, Emoh returned back to Sydney to work on his next single tracking vocals with a ‘to be revealed’ local vocalist, and squeezing in some mixing time before heading back out on the road.

The current single Gemini is out is out now on Sweat It Out/Owsla.

His national tour begins in July, Dates here.


RL Grime, MK, Alison Wonderland, DJ Snake, Nina Las Vegas, Slumberjack together – in one studio at one time sharing around laptops and trading beats. It would never happen right? It did, and it happened right here in Sydney at REC Studios. A perfect storm of the worlds top EDM artists has been set up around Stereosonic Festival headlined on stage and in the studio by the grand maestro, Skrillex.

Among the many collabs in the week long beat-making marathon, saw KLP drop in to track vocals on a yet to be released track by What So Not and Skrillex called “Goh”. Sonny snuck it into set-list during a secret JACK-Ü show he and Diplo played at Home Nightclub later in the week. The crew have hit the road continuing their tour with dates through Asia and North America. Farewell, and thanks for all the Grey Goose.
